Flights to Tanzania are best booked 3–6 months in advance, especially for peak season (June–October). Prices can increase significantly in the last 8 weeks.
Allow at least 2–3 hours for connections in major hubs (Dubai, Nairobi, Addis). Safari luggage is bulky — factor in extra time for baggage at connections.
Bush flight operators (Coastal Aviation, ZanAir) typically allow only 15–20kg in soft bags. Pack a duffel bag rather than a hard suitcase for safari bags.
Most flights into JRO arrive late evening. We recommend booking one night in Arusha before starting your safari to rest and adjust to the time zone.
If you're transiting through or coming from a yellow fever risk country (e.g. Kenya, Uganda), Tanzania requires proof of vaccination. Carry your Yellow Card.
